LAUNCH OF PILGRIM HEALTH INFORMATION SYSTEM - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
Systematic Conglomerate Sdn Bhd (SCSB), in carrying out its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) continue its yearly contribution for the year 2009 under Sahabat Korporat Tabung Haji (SKTH). This year, SCSB contributed RM500,000 worth of service to Tabung Haji in the form of Pilgrim Health Information System (PHIS) with bigger scope and scale compared to the version of PHIS implemented in the year 2008. This web-based information system is fully developed by SCSB for the purpose of managing the medical information of pilgrims while performing hajj more effectively and efficiently. This project saw a group of 6 members of SC dispatched to Saudia Arabia to implement the system.
The system was successfully installed in five (5) Tabung Haji's Hospital namely Pusat Rawatan Syisyah, Hospital Aziziah and Klinik Janadiriah in Makkah, Pusat Rawatan Madinah in Madinah and Klinik Malaysia Madinatul Hujaj in Jeddah. The system was installed in stages which started with Pusat Rawatan Madinah. A simple launching ceremony took place on 24th October 2009 at Pusat Rawatan Madinah which officiated by Dr Hj Wan Mansor B. Hamzah, Operations Director of Madinah.
The system allows easy access to the pilgrims' detailed health and clinical information such as alergies, diagnosis, chronic illnesses and also medication that the patient is currently on use. With the use of PHIS, medical records for each and every pilgrim can be updated easily and accessed at anytime. The electronically compiled data shall then help to generate fast and accurate reports including statistics. Its also facilitates the Management of Tabung Haji Malaysia in their daily operations and administrations especially in carrying out tedious tasks such as preparing Daily Census reports. With the use of PHIS, the reports for each hospital are no longer required to be calculated and sent to the Head Office manually.
A user survey was conducted toward the end of this project in a questionnaire to know end-user's feedback and assess the impact of PHIS. It shows that 92% of the respondents agreed and stated that PHIS is very helpful in performing their daily task. Most of the end-users were satisfied with PHIS functions and features which 81% of the respondents opinioned that PHIS is user friendly and 85% responded that PHIS is simple and easy. With the positive feedback from the end-users few discussions were held to discuss further on the area of improvements.
LAUNCH OF RIS - PACS UPGRADING AT HOSPITAL SELAYANG
The launch of the Radiology Information System - Picture Achiving & Communication System (RIS-PACS) upgrading at Hospital Selayang by the Selangor Director of Health was held at the Crystal Crown Hotel on 18 August 2009.
The occasion started with a video presentation by Dr Syed Amin Hussaini Abdullah Al-Edrus, the SC Director of Clinical Domain and Development, depicting the historical records of Hospital Selayang. It was an interesting and enlightening presentation for the guests and participants from the Ministry of Health, vendors of various hospital equipment and software products and staff of Systematic Conglomerate (SC).
In his opening speech, Dr Hj Wan Azhar Ali, the Managing Director of SC expounded the value of teamwork and thanked the Hospital staff for their cooperation and support and the SC staff for their excellent teamwork.
Next speaker was Dr Hajah Siti Zaleha Bt. Mohd Salleh the Hospital Selayang Director. She said that many hours were spent in window shopping for HIS and PACS equipment and later preparing specifications for their tender. She thanked the Ministry of Health for allotting the funds for the upgrade.
Dr Rosnah Hadis, the Director of Selangor Health Department, was the first Director of Hospital Selayang. In her speech she had much to reflect on the history of the hospital as she was fully involved in the setting up of the hospital and its HIS systems. She and her IT team were unsure what to expect as the HIS system was new then. Now the knowledge of the IT staff of the hospital is recognized worldwide and Hospital Selayang is the reference hospital of the country. Dr Rosnah expects the upgrading work to be completed within six months. The upgrading work involves the replacement of the entire RIS and PACS, migration of data, 37 viewing stations and 26 scanners.
CONTRIBUTION TO ARSHAD AYOB FOUNDATION
Systematic Conglomerate Sdn Bhd (SC) participated in the fund raising dinner held by the Arshad Ayob Foundation at the Sime Darby Convention Centre in April with a contribution of RM10,000 for a dinner table.
ALTRUISTIC PROGRAMME (Leadership & Management Training)
In an ongoing effort to develop its human capital, Systematic Conglomerate Sdn Bhd (SC) organized the Altruistic Leadership & Management Training for 32 of its staff at Kelab Darul Ehsan in April. The 2-day intensive programme was well received by the participants. The programme aimed at developing in the participants qualities such as sincere concern for well-being of others, embracing the attitude and practice of caring, sharing, nurturing and bonding in one's relationship with others. The programme was conducted by Dato' Ismail Noor from Alturistic Leadership Centre (ALC).
DISC IN HUMAN RESOURCE PART II (Interviewing Skills)
The 2-day programme in Interviewing Skills was a continuation of a similar programme which was held earlier. It was conducted by Mr Allan See from Education Train Asia Pacific on 25 & 26 April 2009. 42 staff attended the programme.
